Are you at least 14 years old and want to understand how the climate crisis is changing our rivers, lakes and waterways? Would you like to do your own research and find answers using the latest technology? Then the “Water & Climate Crisis” course at the Science Academy Lower Austria is just right for you!
Here you dive deep into the fascinating world of aquatic ecosystems. You examine water quality, discover algae, fish and microbes, measure greenhouse gases and work with modern technology. You will learn how closely humans and nature are intertwined – and how we can work together to develop solutions for the challenges of the future. The course offers you the opportunity to do real research: in the laboratory, outside in nature and with modern technologies.
The course includes a 3-semester curriculum with a total of 15 full-day workshops at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten (5 per semester) as well as two summer weeks directly at the research location in Lunz am See. You will be accompanied by experts from the WasserCluster Lunz.
