Workshop at Seebach

  • by

Wassercluster Lunz and Haus der Wildnis work together to lead workshops for school children to encourage them to enter the world of science. Most recently two researchers from Wassercluster Lunz took the science club from Lunz Middle School on an expedition into the Seebach.

Various activities, such as measuring the flow velocity and examining the shape of the water, led our students directly into the stream. Equipped with rubber boots and waders, this was great fun. We learned about the longitudinal and transverse shape of the creek, features of the bank and surrounding land, and made sketches of each section of the creek. The exploration of the animal world was not to be missed. Equipped with landing nets and magnifying glasses, mayfly larvae and even a bullhead could be discovered and observed while wading through the knee-deep water.
