In October, members of the SCIBORG project met to play test the first version of the SCIBORG game in Kardista, Greece! This ERASMUS+ project, titled “The Science Literacy Board Game: a new tool for improving science literacy with informal youth education” strives to develop a fun, engaging, board game to improve science literacy.
A crucial step in board game design is play testing. For the past 6 months, the project partners have worked hard to design the first prototype. During our meeting in Greece, the project partners were able to play the game for the first time! In the game, players take on the role of scientists and build their own research by going through the steps of the scientific method. Each card has examples from different fields of science such as ecology, history, and physics. The players with the most points wins!
Together, we played the game and collected feedback to improve it. Check back for more updates! We will release the final game next spring!
